Smoking, real public health problem remains the leading cause of preventable morbidity and mortality, which in our days, starts at an early age and evolves as an epidemic. However, it is entirely possible to oppose the health and social consequences of this global scourge by acting on means of prevention. The objective of this meta-analysis is to get a study more accurate by collecting 5 excel files, theses already made at pulmonology department of University Hospital of Fes ,on knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of students towards smoking in the city of Nador , Berkane , Taza , Meknès and Taounate .This is a méta-analytic study referred to descriptive and analytical , which was conducted with students in the public and private sector . It involved three school levels (elementary, middle, and secondary), and was focused on students between the ages of 8 and 18 years .The prevalence of students smokers is 6%, 2,9% use tobacco products other than cigarettes (chicha, sniff, cigar …) and 4.2% use other smokeless tobacco products. The bivariate analysis showed several potentiel determinants of smoking behavior. The prevalence of smoking is linked to sex (9,8% of smoker boys and 1,9% of smoker girls), age (1,4% of smokers are between 8-11 years, 6,7% are between 12- 14 and 15,7% are between 15-18 years old) and at the school level ( 2.3% of smoker students of primary , 9.5% of students of college and 16.6 % of students of high school). It is significantly higher in students who think that smokers boys (60.3% and 32.2 % VS 46.8% of smokers and 10.2 % of non- smokers) and girls (39.6% and 25, 4% of smokers and 28.8% VS 7.7 % of non- smokers ) have more friends and are more attractive. Our study also focused on the influence of smoking status on the environment of students and their behavior towards smoking. In fact, 78,8% of current smokers have friends who smoke and 54% have smoking parents, which shows that the family is involved in the youth smoking behavior.Concerning the role of media and advertising, 39,5% of students reported seeing tobacco advertising messages in presses or magazines, and 47,2% saw the names of different types of cigarettes on television during a sporting event or other program. During the 30 days preceding the survey, 83,8% of students have observed anti smoking messages. we should therefore stop the impact of media and advertising in favor of tobacco among youth and in parallel increase the frequency and the number of messages and spots anti-tobacco.The multivariate analysis allowed to isolate 6 factors that are determinants :- The male (OR=2,59);- The age between 12-14 years (OR=12,55);- The attraction of smokers (OR=11,81) ;- The smokers friends (OR=23,6) ;- The smokers parents (OR=3,57) ;- False knowledge about the effect of smoking in the genesis of cardiovascular diseases (OR=6,02).In the light of these data we have established anti-tobacco recommendations tailored te school children in our country
