LES FRACTURES DES PLATEAUX TIBIAUX EXPERIENCE DU SERVICE DE TRAUMATOLOGIE ORTHOPEDIE DE L’HOPITAL MILITAIRE MOULAY ISMAIL DE MEKNES

Fractures of the proximal tibia are of great interest for several reasons. These articular fractures remain frequent in the professional and road pathology on the one hand, and on the other their location in the middle of the lower limb makes them responsible for the subsequent integrity of a good load distribution balance. Our work is a retrospective study of 43 cases of tibial plateau fractures compiled in the orthopedic trauma unit of the Military Hospital Moulay Ismail of Meknes during the period between January 2008 and December 2013.Its purpose is to analyze the epidemiological, pathological, radio-clinical, therapeutic and evolutionary from these fractures, and to compare our results with those of literature.These fractures are common in young adults (the average age of our patients is 44 years) and are due in more than half of cases to accidents of public roads. Radiographic analysis allows codifying well as classified by Duparc and Ficat and classification Shatzker.The treatment used can be orthopedic or surgical as appropriate. The percutaneous screwing gave more than half of the good results, demonstrating the benefits of this method to avoid the complications of open surgery. Our results were evaluated based on anatomical and functional criteria and were satisfactory in 93% of cases Preventing traffic accidents is the best way to decrease the incidence of fractures of the tibial plateau and to avoid their social and professional repercussions
