Objectives : Analyze the impact of obesity on the course of pregnancy, childbirth and neonatal outcomes.Optimizing the outcome of pregnancy in obese women. Try to optimize the medical care of these patients
Materials and methods : Retrospective study of 160 obese women (BM>30),that were recorded among 12000 pregnancies in the Military Hospital Mly Ismail of Méknè s, between 1 January 2009 and 31 December 2014
Results ;1. The complications during the pregnancy were: Preeclampsia 7.5% of patients.Gestational diabetes 10% of women on which the study focused.The threat of preterm delivery were for 12.5% of patients.Foetal intrauterine death has affected 1.25% of obese women.2. The evolution of the childbirth was marked by:Premature rupture of membranes in 9.16% of cases.Cesarean delivery in 18.75% of cases.Issuance of bleeding have been reported in 15.62% of patients vaginal tears encountered in 7.5% of patients 3. The foetal prognosis was characterized by: 20% of newborns of obese women were macrosomic 2,5 % of neonatal deaths have been reported
Conclusion :The results of our study confirm the literature data, demonstrating that pregnancy in obese women is a high-risk pregnancy and has to be subject to a care pre-conceptional, a rigorous follow-up and a quality care in a well-equipped maternity ward
