The laparoscopy allows the realization of a cholecystectomy, under general anesthesia, the optics and instruments are introduced through 4-trocarsheaths.The cystic duct and artery are dissected and clipped. The gallbladder freed by the retrograde way is removed through the umbilicus. A serie of 217 cases of biliary lithiasis; operated upon through a laparoscopic approach by the surgical team of the department of visceral surgery “A” of hospital HASSAN 2 between January 2009 to December 2012 ; is reported. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy was carried out on 81, 03%. In 5,6% of the cases, laparoscopy was converted into laparotomy.Mortality rate was zero. Morbidity rate was 2,8% including one injury to the common bile duct, and two cases of iatrogenic stenosis of the common bile duct wich was repaired by putting biliary prosthesis at the time of endoscopic gesture The advantages are the simple postoperative course, the short hospital stay and the minimal parietal traumatism. Contraindications become increasingly scarce
