Myoepithelioma of soft tissue is a rare and under-recognized tumor of intermediate malignancy, representing less than 1% of all soft tissue tumors. The understanding of its clinicopathologic characteristics remains limited. We report a new case of this uncommon tumor arising in the soft tissue of the thigh in a 66-year-old male, of Berber origin, initially misdiagnosed as a simple leiomyoma. Recognition of the clinicopathologic, immunohistochemical and molecular features of soft tissue myoepithelioma is necessary for the correct diagnosis. It should be included in the differential diagnosis of cutaneous and soft tissue epithelioid and spindle cell neoplasms
