The Hassan II University Hospital and the Premier Pas association join forces to prevent disability in children May 17, 2022

On Tuesday May 17, 2022, a partnership agreement was concluded between the Hassan II University Hospital Fès and the Moroccan NGO Premier Pas with the aim of guaranteeing quality care for children born with club feet.

It is recalled that clubfoot is a congenital malformation characterized by one or both feet held inwards and downwards, which in the absence of treatment can cause a disability for approximately one child in 800 in the world are born with clubfoot every year.

Through this partnership, the association Premier Pas aims to provide organizational and financial technical support to children born with club feet or suffering from this malformation, through the use of non-invasive and more effective non-surgical methods for the treatment of club feet.

Raising awareness among patients’ families and training professionals in the use of these methods are the objectives on which the two partners are working together to improve equitable access to quality care and ensure better reinforcement treatment for children born suffering from club feet.

Align with the World Health Organization’s call to action for Rehabilitation 2030, the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030. The partnership aims to ensure early treatment that offers excellent long-term results for children who were destined to become permanently disabled.
