Purpose: the aim of our study is to determine the risk factors of local recurrence in patients treaterd by surgery after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy for adenocarcinoma of the rectum.
Methods and Materials: Eighty eight patients with rectal adenocarcinoma treated between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2013 , were included in the study. These patients have been treated by surgery after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapie. Local recurrence was correlated with risk factors.
Results: Local recurrence rate was 15,9%. The ratio of lymph nodes at cuttof level of 0,17 was a risk factor for local recurrence (p=0,003).
Conclusion: The lymph node ratio was a risk factor of local recurrence after curative treatment of rectal cancer
