EVALUATION DE LAPRÉVALENCE DE LASOMNOLENCE DIURNE EXCESSIVE ET SARELATIONAVEC LE TRAVAIL POSTÉ : ETUDE CHEZ LES TRAVAILLEURS D’UN CENTRE D’APPEL

The excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) is a real health problem but it still remains unknown. Our study has focused on this by the strong prevalence of the EDS among workers in web-help call center in Fez. This study aims at having necessary information by the means of a questionnaire in order to evaluate the prevalence and searching for factors that determine EDS among the people mentioned above and also looking for sleeping troubles. It is a transversal study whose goal is descriptive and analytic. It took this study six months to do it. It concerned 322 workers with the participation rate of 71,5%. According to the Epworth scale, the prevalence of EDS is about 19,3%. The EDS distribution according to anthropological data and underlying comorbidities show that the EDS prevalence is about 23,8% among people over 30 years ; 19,4% among women ; 19,1% among men ; 22,1% among those with ; 26,1% among those with gastrointestinal antecedents ; 34,5% among those with cardiovascular antecedents ; 60 % among those with head-trauma antecedent ; 33,3% among those with endocrinological antecedents ; 29,7% among those with anxiety-depression antecedents and 17,2 % of chronic smoking.As for the distribution of EDS, according to working conditions, we find an EDS among : 24,4% among people those start work before 8H ;29,8% among those who find it difficult to keep careful ; 24,9% among those who feel tired at work ; 30,1% among those who feel accommodated by monotonous noise ; 56,2% among those with unsatisfactory performance , 31,3% among whose family life is lower and 29,4% among those whose working conditions are lowers.We also find that an EDS is among 39,4% of snorers ; 34,6% of Pichot scale ; 41,9% among those anxiety score of HAD is ; 42,1% among those depression score of HAD is and 42,9% among those of positive Berlin scale .The multi-varied analysis show that the main risky factors implied in EDS are related to the working conditions especially the difficulty of keeping careful with OR=3,39, feeling tired at work with OR=9,82, also the less-sleepy workers have outperformed expectations and average creativity and satisfactory performance and meet expectations minimal creativity with respectively the OR 0,35 and 0,33.The other sleep disorders found in this study are:- The sleep onset insomnia (35,7%).- Chronic sleep deprivation (7,8%).- The restless leg syndrome chez 3,4%.- Cataplexy is suspected in a single person (0,3%).Our study underline the risk of EDS among our population and needs to be supported by others works. We have set up recommendations based on global measures so as to improve the working conditions and personalized measures for sleepy workers.We should integrate this study-result in a detection strategy, prevention and EDS management at the work place in order to avoid the EDS consequences on the individual himself and the collectivity itself
